I'm an avid movie watcher, so I'm constantly looking for movies to watch that pique my interest. That's where you all come in. I need you guys to post your favorite movies, be it top 5, top 10, or however you want to post them (you could even link to your IMDb ranking page if you're familiar with that) so that I can get more ideas for movies to watch.
Generally speaking, I prefer movies that get wide box office releases (as opposed to independent and the like) AND have well-known stars OR an interesting premise;
OR have well-known stars AND an interesting premise;
OR get good reviews AND have well-known stars OR an interesting premise.
To that end, a good review is at least a 6 on IMDb, and well-known stars are anybody I know by name and who haven't been in something that makes me want to kill 1/4 of the population of the United States.
Nothing before 1970 either, please.
Get all that? Good.
Of course, since the movies you list will be your favorites, these guidelines have no basis for you, and are simply what I look for in a movie. By all means, please, list whatever you like. If they're interesting, I'll probably watch them. And as proof of that, Swub turned me onto a Kevin Spacey movie called K-PAX that I had never heard of, but found to be quite good.
